Shopify Pricing Explained

Shopify has three plans:

  • Basic Shopify ($29/month)
  • Shopify ($79)
  • Advanced Shopify ($299)

You can see you the various plans here, but we will go into some of the details below:

Credit Card Rates

These are the rates you’ll be charged on each credit card transaction when you use Shopify Payments. I recommend going with Shopify’s payment option because it’s easy to integrate and doesn’t require another account. If you use another platform like PayPal, you will be charged an additional percentage of the sale.

Staff Accounts

Staff accounts are other users who can access your site. It’s important to review this when choosing a plan, because you will be limited to that number of users. You can also limit what each account can see once the account is setup.

Shopify Shipping discount

Using USPS as your shipping provide through Shopify will get you a discount from what you would normally pay. Depending on which plan you pick, you’ll get a different discount.

Free SSL certificate

SSL is what protects the data you send over the internet from snooping hackers. Every Shopify site comes with SSL by default, so you don’t have to worry about your customers’ data.

Abandoned cart recovery

If a customer starts ordering, but leaves your page, they will get an email reminding them of their abandoned cart the day after they leave. This has been shown to significantly increase purchase rates, so it’s a great feature.

Third-party calculated shipping rates

If you ship around the world, you know that shipping is an extremely variable cost and difficult to deal with. With the Advanced plan, your customer can calculate the shipping to their home from any of the carriers that you have enabled.
